The Transport Department plays a crucial role in supporting the smooth operation of school activities and ensuring that learners can access educational opportunities beyond the classroom. Reliable transportation is essential for academic trips, co-curricular activities, sports competitions, educational tours, medical emergencies, and other school programs that contribute to the holistic development of our learners.

Our History

For many years, the school has depended on a vehicle generously donated by German missionaries. This vehicle served the institution faithfully and played a significant role in facilitating learner movement and supporting various school activities. Through this support, countless learners were able to participate in educational tours, sports events, and community engagements that enriched their learning experiences.

Current Challenges

However, following the COVID-19 pandemic, the vehicle became non-operational due to age and mechanical challenges. As a result, the school currently faces significant transportation difficulties. The vehicle's prolonged service and advanced age have made restoration increasingly difficult and costly, leaving the institution without a reliable means of transport.

The absence of a functional school vehicle has greatly affected the implementation of many programs. Learners often encounter challenges when participating in sports competitions, academic contests, educational excursions, and other external activities. The school is frequently forced to hire transport services, a process that is not only expensive but also inconvenient and unpredictable. The high costs associated with hiring vehicles place a substantial financial burden on the institution and often limit the number of activities that can be undertaken.

These transportation challenges are particularly significant for our learners with special needs, who require safe, dependable, and accessible transportation arrangements. Despite these challenges, the school administration, staff, and stakeholders remain committed to ensuring that learners continue to access important educational and co-curricular opportunities. Efforts are continuously being made to seek partnerships, well-wishers, donors, and development partners who can support the acquisition of a reliable school vehicle.

A functional school bus would not only ease transportation challenges but would also strengthen participation in sports, educational tours, cultural events, academic competitions, and community outreach programs. It would enhance safety, reduce operational costs, improve efficiency, and ensure that every learner has the opportunity to benefit from experiences beyond the classroom.

What is Needed to Bring It Back to Life

Restoring our school vehicle or acquiring a new one

The school van that once served us faithfully is currently non-operational due to age and mechanical challenges. However, with the right support and investment, we can restore it to service or acquire a new one. Below are the key requirements:

Major Mechanical Repairs

The van requires extensive mechanical repairs including engine overhaul, transmission repairs, brake system replacement, and electrical system fixes to restore it to roadworthy condition.

Bodywork and Repainting

The van's body has suffered from years of wear and tear. It needs bodywork repairs, rust treatment, and a fresh coat of paint to restore its appearance and protect it from further deterioration.

New Tires and Spare Parts

The van requires new tires, batteries, and various spare parts to ensure it operates safely and reliably. Many parts are no longer available locally and may need to be sourced from specialized suppliers.
