Meet our dedicated leadership team committed to excellence in special needs education
Head Of Institution
Mr. Rowlands Ambalo
Head Teacher
"Every child deserves equal opportunities regardless of disability. At Kuja, we turn potential into achievement."
As the Headteacher of Kuja Comprehensive School for the Deaf, I take great pride in the remarkable achievements, resilience, and potential demonstrated by our students every day. Our school stands as a beacon of hope, inclusion, and excellence, proving that deafness is not an inability but a unique way of experiencing and contributing to the world. We remain committed to providing quality education, nurturing talents, and equipping our students with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to become responsible, independent, and productive members of society.
To the nation, I call upon all stakeholders to continue supporting inclusive education and to create opportunities that recognize the abilities and talents of learners with hearing impairments. A truly progressive society is one that embraces diversity, removes barriers, and ensures that every child receives equal opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed. Let us work together to build communities where persons with disabilities are valued, respected, and empowered to contribute fully to national development.
To our dedicated teachers, I extend my sincere appreciation for your unwavering commitment, patience, and professionalism. Your efforts go beyond classroom instruction; you are mentors, role models, and advocates for our learners. Continue to inspire excellence and create learning environments where every student feels supported and capable of achieving their goals. The impact of your work will be felt not only in the lives of our students but also in future generations.
To our parents and guardians, thank you for entrusting us with the education and development of your children. Your partnership is invaluable in helping learners achieve their full potential. I encourage you to remain actively involved in your children's education, celebrate their achievements, and continue providing the love, support, and encouragement they need to thrive both in school and in society.
At Kuja Comprehensive School for the Deaf, discipline remains the cornerstone of all our achievements. We believe that academic excellence, talent development, and good character can only flourish in an environment where discipline is valued and practiced. We continually encourage our students to uphold respect, honesty, responsibility, self-control, and hard work in all their endeavors. Through guidance, counselling, mentorship, and positive reinforcement, we strive to mould learners who are not only academically competent but also morally upright and socially responsible citizens.
To our dear students, you are the pride and future of our nation. Never allow anyone to define your limits based on your hearing ability. Believe in yourselves, work hard, embrace discipline, and pursue your dreams with determination and courage. Your talents, intelligence, and perseverance have the power to transform not only your own lives but also the communities around you. Remember that success belongs to those who remain focused, resilient, and committed to their goals.
I also wish to strongly caution all students across the country against the unfortunate practice of destroying school property, particularly through acts of arson. Burning schools is not a solution to challenges or grievances; it is a destructive act that causes immense loss to fellow learners, parents, teachers, and the nation as a whole. Schools are centers of learning, growth, and hope. When a school is destroyed, opportunities for education and development are disrupted for many young people. I urge students to embrace dialogue, respect school rules, seek guidance when faced with difficulties, and resolve conflicts peacefully and responsibly. Let us protect our schools and preserve them as safe places where dreams are nurtured and futures are built.
At Kuja Comprehensive School for the Deaf, we firmly believe that ability is greater than disability. Together, let us continue building a future where every learner is given the opportunity to excel, every talent is nurtured, and every dream is supported through education, discipline, determination, and mutual respect.
To parents and guardians across the country, I warmly invite you to consider Kuja Comprehensive School for the Deaf as a home of learning, growth, and opportunity for your children. At Kuja, the safety, well-being, and holistic development of every learner remain our highest priorities. We provide a secure, caring, and supportive environment where learners are respected, nurtured, and guided to achieve their full potential both academically and socially. Our dedicated staff work tirelessly to ensure that each child receives quality education, proper guidance, and opportunities to discover and develop their unique talents and abilities. Parents can have confidence that their children are in safe hands and are being prepared to become responsible, confident, and successful members of society. Kuja Comprehensive School for the Deaf proudly welcomes learners from all parts of the country and remains committed to excellence, discipline, safety, and quality education, ensuring that every child entrusted to our care receives the strongest possible foundation for a bright, successful, and fulfilling future.
Remember, assisting learners with disability is a pathway of blessings from God. We will appreciate if any partner comes in to assist.
Deputy Head Of Institution
Mr. Samuel Illa
Deputy Head Teacher
"Every child deserves equal opportunities regardless of disability. At Kuja, we turn potential into achievement."
As the Deputy Headteacher of Kuja Comprehensive School for the Deaf, I am honored to serve in an institution that is dedicated to nurturing the academic, social, and personal growth of learners with hearing impairments. Every day, I witness the determination, resilience, and talents of our students as they overcome challenges and strive for excellence. Our role as educators extends beyond classroom instruction; we are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where learners can develop confidence, independence, and the skills necessary for lifelong success. Through teamwork and a learner-centered approach, we continue to strengthen the quality of education and services offered to our students.
The school is DEB sponsored and is being supported by the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Rongo Central within Ranen Conference. The school has adequate physical Infrastructure capable of accomodating quite a number of learners right from ECD, Primary to Junior School with highly qualified both teaching and support staff. However, the Infrastructure as at now are dilapidated and needs thorough renovation. Any support will be highly appreciated.
The School is well known by its exemplary performance both in academic and cocurricular activities. For many years the school has celebrated quite a number of trophies in Athletics, ball games, music alongside other activities.
One of my key responsibilities is coordinating academic programs and ensuring that teaching and learning remain effective and responsive to the needs of our learners. I encourage both teachers and students to embrace a culture of continuous improvement, commitment, and accountability. Success in education is achieved when learners actively participate in their studies, utilize available learning opportunities, and maintain a positive attitude toward their responsibilities. Likewise, teachers must continue to work collaboratively, share professional experiences, and adopt innovative strategies that enhance learning outcomes. By fostering a strong partnership among staff and learners, we create an environment where achievement becomes a shared goal.
To parents and guardians, I sincerely appreciate your trust and cooperation in supporting the education of your children. Your encouragement and involvement play a vital role in reinforcing the values and skills learned at school. I also encourage our learners to uphold discipline, respect, and integrity in all aspects of their lives. These qualities are just as important as academic achievement and will help them become responsible citizens and future leaders. As we move forward, let us remain committed to hard work, mutual respect, and the pursuit of excellence. Together, we can continue building a school community that empowers learners to realize their aspirations and make meaningful contributions to society.
I once more say WELCOME! WELCOME! To Kuja Comprehensive school, a school of your choice.
Senior Head Of Institution
Tr. Millicent Odera
Acting Senior Teacher
"Every child deserves equal opportunities regardless of disability. At Kuja, we turn potential into achievement."
As the Acting Senior Teacher of Kuja Comprehensive School for the Deaf, I am privileged to serve in an institution that continues to transform the lives of learners with hearing impairments through quality education, guidance, and talent development. Kuja has remained a center of excellence where learners are empowered to develop academically, socially, emotionally, and morally. The school's commitment is to ensure that every learner receives the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to become an independent, responsible, and productive member of society. Through dedication and teamwork, Kuja continues to nurture future leaders, professionals, and role models who will contribute positively to the nation.
Teachers play a critical role in shaping the future of learners. I commend the dedication, patience, and professionalism demonstrated in delivering quality education and supporting learners in achieving their goals. Teaching in a special needs environment requires commitment, creativity, and a genuine desire to make a difference. I encourage teachers to continue working collaboratively, embracing innovation, and maintaining high standards of professionalism to ensure that every learner receives the best possible educational experience.
Parents and guardians remain important partners in the educational journey of every child. Continued support, encouragement, and active involvement in school activities greatly contribute to learners' success. Regular communication with teachers, monitoring academic progress, and reinforcing positive values at home help create a strong foundation for achievement. Together, schools and families can provide learners with the guidance and support necessary to excel both in school and in life.
Students are encouraged to remain disciplined, hardworking, and committed to their education. Every opportunity provided at school should be utilized to acquire knowledge, develop talents, and build character. Respect for teachers, fellow learners, and school property is essential in creating a conducive learning environment. Success is achieved through determination, perseverance, and a willingness to learn. Learners should remain focused on their goals and strive to become responsible citizens who positively impact society.
The nation and all stakeholders in education are called upon to continue supporting special needs education and promoting equal opportunities for learners with disabilities. Kuja Comprehensive School for the Deaf has demonstrated that learners with hearing impairments can excel academically, socially, and professionally when provided with appropriate support and resources. Continued investment in inclusive education, infrastructure, learning materials, and talent development programs will help unlock the immense potential that exists within these learners. By working together, we can build a society where every child is valued, empowered, and given the opportunity to succeed regardless of their circumstances.
