📋 About Ministry of Education
Ministry of Education (MoE), in collaboration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), plays a vital role in the growth and sustainability of Kuja Comprehensive School for the Deaf. Through the TSC, the Ministry recruits, deploys, remunerates, and provides professional development opportunities for qualified teachers, ensuring that learners with hearing impairment receive quality education from competent and dedicated educators. The Ministry also supports the school through Free Primary Education (FPE) and Junior School capitation, grants, and other government funding programs that facilitate the purchase of teaching and learning materials, assistive learning resources, and the day-to-day running of the institution.
In addition, the Ministry supports the development and maintenance of school infrastructure, including classrooms, dormitories, sanitation facilities, administration blocks, and other essential learning environments. It oversees curriculum implementation, quality assurance, policy formulation, and the integration of Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) and Stage-Based Curriculum for learners with special needs. The Ministry further promotes inclusive education by facilitating the provision of specialized instructional materials, sign language resources, and support services aimed at enhancing the academic, social, and emotional development of learners with hearing impairment. Through continuous collaboration with development partners and other stakeholders, the Ministry remains a key pillar in ensuring that Kuja Comprehensive School for the Deaf provides equitable, accessible, and quality education to every learner.
