Mathematics is about logical thinking and problem solving. We use visual aids, manipulatives, and real-life examples to make math accessible and enjoyable for our deaf learners. Our students consistently perform well in national examinations.

📖 Teaching Methods:
Our department uses visual aids, manipulatives, and real-life examples to make mathematics accessible and enjoyable for deaf learners. We incorporate Kenyan Sign Language in all math lessons, use practical demonstrations, and provide individualized support to ensure every learner masters mathematical concepts.

Challenges We Face:
- Limited teaching and learning resources (manipulatives, charts, models)
- Lack of adequate textbooks and reference materials
- Some learners face difficulties in abstract mathematical concepts
- Need for more technology integration in math lessons
- Limited funding for math-related activities and competitions
- Some learners lack foundational numeracy skills
Our Future Plans:
- Acquire more teaching resources and manipulatives
- Establish a mathematics resource centre
- Integrate ICT in mathematics instruction
- Organize regular math clinics and peer tutoring sessions
- Participate in regional and national math competitions
- Develop locally adapted mathematics teaching materials for deaf learners
- Train teachers on innovative mathematics teaching strategies
