About Ashura
Ms. Ashura Michael is a programme and policy specialist with over ten years of experience in programme management, gender equality, disability inclusion, and policy advocacy. She is an alumna of Kuja Primary School for the Deaf, where her foundation for confidence, leadership, resilience, and service was nurtured.
She currently serves as Talent Development and Inclusion Associate and Disability Inclusion Manager at UNDP Kenya, where she advances inclusive workplace practices, supports staff learning and development, and leads efforts to strengthen disability inclusion and equal opportunities across the organization.

Ashura Michael stands as an inspiring role model to girls and learners with hearing impairment at Kuja School. Her journey from a young learner at Kuja to a respected professional at UNDP Kenya demonstrates that disability is not inability. She continues to inspire current learners to dream big, pursue their passions, and break barriers. Her commitment to inclusion and empowerment serves as a guiding light to many who face similar challenges. Through her work, she proves that with determination, resilience, and the right support, every learner can achieve greatness.
